John Walvoord, 28 years a missionary in Irian Jaya, talks about spiritual seekers who refuse to serve the pagan gods, but search for the true God of heaven [p. 223-4].  Some, like Hector, wait for the God of heaven, but die before a missionary comes.  Do they go to hell?  When the missionary does arrive, Hector’s extended family immediately embraces the gospel of Christ.  They seem to have “known” God and “glorified” him as best they could, given the light they had (Rom. 1), so God honors their faith and sends a missionary.  Am I getting through to you now?  I hope so because this is important to say the least.
