I work for a call center, so I know a lot about the people around me. After all, we spend most of our lives in our cubicles, which are not very tall. With four short walls, it’s very simple to look into another person’s cube at any time during the day, so we all have very few secrets. Therefore, when Barbara showed up to work with a wedding ring on her finger, we all knew within the hour. You see, Barbara is a lesbian and very proud of it. She scorned the typical “straight person” wedding bands and claimed that she would never wear one. So, when we saw the ring, we asked. It turns out that there are companies who make lesbian wedding rings in Los Angeles. These wedding rings are just for lesbians and speak of their commitment to one another, yet set them apart from straight couples. I had never heard of these rings before, but now I see that they are pretty common. Interesting stuff.
