I think that names confer meaning and in some way even help shape our fate. For instance, if you you are a man and you possess a strong name you will command a little more respect than if you have a "nerdy" or "nebbishy" name. I gave this a lot of thought when I named my son. I ended up giving him a name from the Bible, not because I am very religious but because it was a strong and serene name, with a tradition behind it. Perhaps it is even a hebrew name. If I had been given a list of hebrew male names and their meanings, I certainly would have considered one for my son. I think traditional names are a wise choice, because they never go out of style like some of the quirky names kids are given today.
