I have had several digital cameras but I have had the same issue with each and every one of them. I get super annoyed when I try to take a picture of my kids and by the time that the shot is actually captured the moment is gone and my kids have completely stopped what they were doing. With small children you need to be able to take pictures quickly and not wait five seconds for the camera to set up the shot. In the world of children five seconds may as well be an eternity. I just recently learned that there is a way to get around this pitfall. Purchasing a camera with a quicker shutter speed should reduce this, although the camera may be a bit more pricey.
